Kylie Austin


BIO

Kylie is a member of the Eastern Districts Country Music Club and has been performing for since the age of 5. Over the years she has had many successes both here in New Zealand and in Australia and more recently Norfolk Island.


She has been a finalist in the New Zealand Country Music Entertainer of the Year on many occasions as a solo artist and also as part of a duo and a group. She has also been a finalist in the New Zealand Songwriter of the Year awards.

In 2004 she was the Maton Talent Search winner at the Gympie Muster - which is the largest talent search of its kind in Australasia.

In 2005 Kylie graduated from the College of Country Music in Australia, this to date has been one of Kylies career highlights.

Kylie was part of the Senior Overall Winners North vs. South at the 2006 Gold Guitar Awards which are held in Gore.

In 2007 Kylie was named the 2007 Trans Tasman Entertainer of The Year - something she has worked exceptionally hard for.


Since the release of Kylie's debut album 'when it rains' in 2008, Kylie has been performing nonstop around the country as a soloist and with her duo partner Trevor V. Stevens.

Kylie's first album was a finalist in the New Zealand Tui Awards 'Country Album of the Year' in 2009. In the same year, Kylie was also the recipient of the Pat McMinn Rising Star Award which is presented by the Variety Artists Club of New Zealand. She has been a finalist in the Duo of the Year Awards with Trevor and also a finalist in the Female Artist of The Year category at the National Country Music Awards and also the VAC Benny Awards.

2013 saw Kylie run a successful Pledge Me Campaign to record her second album with Mike McCarthy at Manuka Studios. Titled 'Where've You Been' Kylie released this album on May 4th 2014 and made a donation to the Kidney Society of Auckland with funds raised from a full house at her CD Launch Party.
